Earlier in the month, I sprained my Achilles tendon and was diagnosed with Achilles Tendinitis. Boo!
Basically, I am in a LOT of pain…and I can barely walk, let alone Jazzercise. This has been quite the eye opener for me--I have had sports injuries before, but nothing that has had surgery threatened at me if I do not take care of myself.
So…there you have it. I must rest and do Physical Therapy for the next month, and then *hopefully* I will be back teaching in July. I had my first Physical Therapy session last week, and he gave me a lot of helpful stretches and strengthening exercises…he also told me that I need to ice at least 3-4 times daily. I wasn’t aware of how hard it is to ice while you work a full time job! Yikes! I am headed back for my second bout of PT on Wednesday and I hope that he tells me that I have improved.
